YEAR
AGM
on Saturday 10th November 2007 at 10.15 am
Dear Old Scholar
I write to invite you to this year’s AGM, which will be held in the library at the School on Saturday, 10th November at 10.15 a.m.
The Agenda for the AGM and Programme for the day are below. Please send any nominations for committee members and appointments to me at nigel@mctear.com
Since last year’s AGM, the General Committee has drawn up some proposed amendments to the Association’s Constitution. With the School now conducting many of the administrative tasks previously undertaken by members of the Committee, these amendments deal with downsizing the Committee and a reduction in the numbers required for a quorum at both Committee and General Meetings of the Association (for more detail see Richard Gilpin’s article on page 37 of this year’s magazine ).
The proposed amendments are included on the enclosed sheet. They will be put to members at the AGM for approval. If you are unable to attend the AGM but wish to comment on the proposals, please contact me with your views. Any such information that I receive within the six weeks following the AGM (i.e. by 22nd December) will be passed to the Trustees, who will add this to the votes taken at the AGM when determining the adoption of the proposals.
Please note that the date for next year’s Reunion Day will be Saturday 10th May (and not 17th May as advertised in the OSA Magazine.)
Yours sincerely
Nigel McTear
Secretary
Please contact Martin Hugall at the School (01799 525351 or mjh@friends.org.uk) by 5th November if you wish to take lunch in the dining room with the School. There will be no charge.
