Ruth Margaret West (nee Stubbs) (YG 1934)

It is with great sadness that we have to report the death of Ruth West.Ruth was born on 1st July 1916 in Chendhu, West China to Clifford and Margaret Stubbs who were part of the Friends Mission there. She started at Friends' School in 1927 and after Clifford's death in 1930, her mother Margaret returned to England and secured a job as Matron of the first Junior School (or Junior House as it was known).Ruth's sister Jean Stubbs also later became a teacher at the school.Ruth had a successful career as a doctor and both her sons Jeremy and Roger attended Friends' School.She sadly died on 19th November at the grand age of 98.
